The refined building blocks of all ships and equipment. Minerals can be found by either Mining Asteroids, or Scrap Metal Refining. There are eight basic minerals:
Tritanium
Pyerite
Mexallon
Isogen
Nocxium|
Zydrine
Megacyte
Morphite
All Tech I ships and equipment are comprised of these seven minerals. Their market prices are generally determined by their scarcity and the quantities needed to construct popular ships and equipment, but in general, Tritanium is the cheapest and most abundant, and Megacyte the most expensive and rare.
Morphite: Tech II ships and equipment also require Morphite, an extremely rare and valuable eighth mineral type, along with a number of special components.
