Logistics Ships are a class of advanced cruiser that are designed exclusively for the purpose of aiding teammates in combat. These Tech II vessels are widely used in complexes and other NPC encounters, but are not as common in actual player combat. The main pitfall in PVP fighting is that any logistics cruiser would be called as a target immediately and would be destroyed first in a battle, before it could be useful. However in the Alliance Tournament in the summer of 2006, logistics ships were used effectively in PvP combat. Their bonuses to remote repairing and boosting are considerable, and thus any group who can use logistics ships successfully can benefit greatly from them. Starting with the Revelations II expansion, logistics ships have been granted stronger resistances and a number of special ship bonuses that effectively allow them to operate remote repair modules of battleship size.
